*General Description*
*SQL Server Database Administrator –* Work assignments to include: monitor
database resources; back up and restore production and test databases;
analyze performance problems; gain consensus of DBA team for problem
countermeasures; timely communication of system and problem status to team.;
document activities and findings for understanding; install and configure
SQL Server on test and production systems; apply patches and upgrades to SQL
Server software.
Additionally, candidate will coordinate weekly meetings, testing schedules,
and publish status reports.
Ideally, candidate should be able to independently solve problems and design
solutions for complex application and infrastructure needs. Candidate must
have the ability to explain complex problems in simple terms to team members
in written and verbal formats and to act as liaison/assistant to overall
project lead.
*Work experience requirements*
The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience performing SQL
Server Database Administration tasks, including database creation,
monitoring, tuning, security and strong problem resolution skills.
Candidate should have experience with SQL Server Management Studio,
Enterprise Manager, SQL Analyzer, Triggers, Replication, DTS, SSIS,
Clustering and SQL Profiler.
