Sr Purchasing Manager – Global Travel
Location: Boston area, MA
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for leading the Company’s Corporate Travel Operations Global Sourcing category. Experience sourcing and managing one or more of the following categories:
• Travel – Agencies, Airlines, Hotels, Rental Cars
• Credit Cards – Corporate Travel and Procurement Card Programs
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Continually identifies and implements new opportunities for cost savings and cost avoidance and proactively tracks progress toward these objectives.
• Manages the Strategic Sourcing process, including the RFI/RFP process on a global basis.
• Manages supplier selection process and ensures supplier selections are based on sound selection criteria.
• Leads in the development and execution of negotiation strategies with suppliers, including specific targets for pricing, service, and quality.
• Provides strategic focus, management and support for all global corporate contracts and key supplier relationships for travel category.
• Works with Legal to establish and execute optimal contract terms and conditions with suppliers.
• Develops and supports detailed reporting activities as they relate to the Travel organization.
• Works to ensure Company adheres to market share commitments related to travel category contracts.
• Routinely briefs senior management concerning major travel program objectives and milestones.
• Oversees strategy, management and administration of online travel booking tool.
• Monitors and enforces company policy as it relates to business Travel category.
Qualifications and Experience:
• At least 10 years experience in Strategic Sourcing, and/or Travel Management
• Strong relationship building skills with key Stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Ability to leverage networks and relationships
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills to manage and resolve highly complex business issues
• Strong negotiations and communication skills (both oral and written)
• Proven track record of building and leading teams
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
