Sr. Product Manager, EHandS Software – Chicago, Illinois
I have an immediate need for a Sr. Product Manager, EH and S Software for a client of mine who is one of the world’s
leading providers of Corporate Responsibility and EH and S software solutions with recognized expertise in Governance,
Risk and Compliance.
Position: Sr. Product Manager (EH and S Software)
Reports to: Director of Product Management
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Compensation: 95K – 120K Base (Bonus up to 20K)
General Job Duties:
The Sr. Product Manager – EHS provides overall leadership and organization of the product management of the client’s
complete technology platform. The PM will be responsible for implementing and managing the end-to-end Product
Management process that spans market needs identification to product development to product launch and support. The PM
will develop and manage as well as provide company-wide and product-specific forecasts, develop competitive
strategies, maintain product roadmaps, and contribute to pricing strategy and implementation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: product / service design, management of post-launch
product life cycle and continuous product/service enhancements; effectively communicate with all areas of the company;
collaborate with Director of Product Development to define product release requirements and marketing communications
to define the go-to-market strategy; collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to ensure product specifications include
environmental requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire product / service life cycle from strategic to tactical activities
- Develop market requirements for current and future products / services using market research, on-going visits to
customers and non-customers
- Lead projects with development teams using market requirements, contract, and product/service positioning
- Implement a go-to-market plan for company, working with all departments
- Create a communication plan and generate internal excitement for your product(s), champion “best practices” and set
expectations that contribute to team success
- Demonstrate continuous improvement and promote a progressive quality culture
- Successfully attain budget/business objectives.
- Comply with the corporate policies and procedures.
- Comply with regulatory and industry standards.
-Work effectively in a team environment and contribute to maintaining positive interpersonal relationships and foster
cooperation between group members.
- Coordinate efforts with various departments and outside suppliers (depending on the position).
- Effectively communicate with outside clients and all levels of management.
Education/Experience/Skills
- EHS subject matter expertise required.
- Master’s degree (marketing, business, or Environmental Engineering or related field) or equivalent combination of
coursework and experience.
- Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming a major plus
- 7-10 years of successful product management and/or marketing experience in the EHS field
- 5-7 years experience in the software industry required
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Results oriented, creative, positive, and energetic; ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and meet
deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Independent, yet team player; ability to work well in matrix organization.
- Expertise with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Proven project management skills.
- A background in software development is a plus
- Project Management certification is a plus
