Seeking Designer Service Technologist for RICHMOND BC, USA
Our client, a global leader in energy management, is seeking to hire a qualified Designer/Service Technologist for their Richmond location. The Service Technologist will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of our client’s electrical distribution equipment project orders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Review specifications for new projects and change orders as required.
•Prepare and obtain material and labour cost estimates.
•Required to enter orders for “project parts and materials” on appropriate supplier.
•Expedite ordered items to meet delivery requirements.
•Prepare bills of material and assembly drawings for submission to the shop or plant floor.
•Prepare, enter and maintain production schedules.
•Liaison with QDC on production schedules for all orders placed on plant.
•For complex switchboard, switchgear or substation orders the following is required.
-Prepare initial design and approval drawings for submission.
-Determine the most appropriate layout.
-Prepare drawings in structural or wiring discipline, using AutoCAD.
-Prepare material list of parts to be purchased.
-Expedite material deliveries and maintain assembly schedules as required.
-Ensure drawings are submitted and returned on schedule.
•Provide assistance to assembly workers with drawing interpretation and production issues.
•Provide assistance to customers in expediting deliveries and resolving application issues.
•Complete site visits, when required to take measurements and develop custom design solutions.
•Performs design duties in the development of drawings.
•Perform site visits to assist / direct technicians in the assembly and modification of switchgear.
•Maintains system documentation library and assists with archiving.
•May be required to perform other related duties of a minor nature.
•May be required to direct other employees.
