EHS and Security Manager/Director (Ventura County, CA)
Responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the environment, health & safety, Security (EHSS) and Loss Prevention (LP) programs for global operations in order to ensure legal compliance, risk reduction, enhanced performance and cost savings through improved performance.
The key functions of this role will include:
1) To assist the site and senior management in the development and implementation of appropriate EHS, Security and loss prevention strategies that support division and group objectives.
2) To promote EHS, Security & Loss prevention programs and initiatives at all levels.
3) To ensure adequate and appropriate resources, systems and controls are in place to achieve EHS targets & objectives and to meet the applicable voluntary and statutory requirements.
4) To build strong and competent cross functional EHS, Security & loss Prevention networks across the division. Due to the size of many Interconnect companies, there are no dedicated EHS employees at each site. EHS is a shared responsibility across various functional departments.
Education:
1) Prefer Bachelors in EHS,chemical engineering or a related technical discipline.
2) Certification as a Safety Professional would be preferred and certification as a Security professional would be desired but is not a requirement.
3) 10 years EHS experience gained in multi-site precision engineering manufacturing environments such as electronics defence, aerospace and medical systems (national and international experience)
4) Demonstrable success in driving the development of world class EH&S in a multi-site environment.
5) Experience of delivering performance improvements and driving change via functional links using influence, communication skills and technical expertise rather than through direct line management reporting structures.
6) Experience leading ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, or similar, best in class environment, health and safety management systems.
7) A well developed understanding of EH&S requirements within the overall business context.
Knowledgeable in the fundamentals of risk assessment and loss prevention in context of Safety.
9) Ability to develop and present business cases tailored to the needs of the Division and the particular audience.
10) Ability to focus on strategic issues coupled with a readiness to get into details.
11) The cross-cultural skills necessary to operate successfully in a wide range of international locations.
12) Experienced at identifying development needs of communications cross function EHS personnel and, in conjunction with their supervisors, implement individual development plans.
13) Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
14) Well developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
