Responsibilities of Position:
About The Unit: The Unit is a 12 bed unit whose patient population consists of those with pulmonary, cardiac and medical diagnoses. The Medical Intensive Care unit is one of five Critical Care units which include a Burn Trauma Intensive Care unit, a Surgical Intensive Care unit, a Neuro Intensive Care Unit and an Intermediate Care Step down unit. The Critical Care unit managers work together in a collaborative and supportive environment. Physician leadership comes from co-directors who work well together, are engaged, committed to excellent patient care and facilitate teamwork. The unit is well staffed for a baseline ratio of two patients per nurse with frequent higher acuity patients who require one to one nursing care. One health care assistant per shift is also part of the team. Nurses are encouraged to obtain their CCRN. The nursing staff is highly trained and consistently care for patients on balloon pumps, and CRRT.
Experience Required: How many years?What type? —Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah or Compact State required.
• Minimum of 4 years recent critical care experience.
• Management experience required.
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree and AACN certification preferred.
