Our client is seeking a Quality Engineering manager to lead and manage a world class Quality Engineering team that will focus on the next generation user interface and client-side application development. You must have a proven track record of successfully building, leading and managing a functional and technical team with a strong sense of ownership. This position requires strategic thinking and planning to provide leadership and expertise throughout the entire lifecycle and across multiple functional areas, ensuring the success of your team’s manual and automation efforts. You will work with a team of talented, highly motivated QA engineers and developers and will be expected to both challenge and be challenged.
Responsibilities:
In order to effectively manage this team, you will have superior leadership skills, a solid background on UI development and testing, expertise in testing methodologies, extensive experience and knowledge of standard QA and development tools and the agility to operate within short release cycles. You will have strong experience driving tactical and strategic objectives in an assertive, fast-growing, mission-critical Quality Engineering organization. Operational knowledge and experience in on-demand, software services development is a plus.

Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the leadership team (product owner, development manager, Usability team, UI Designers leads and scrum masters) on product strategy, roadmap, resource allocations, process improvements, etc.
* Provide technical leadership, career development, and management of objectives, priorities, tradeoffs, risks and performance management of all reporting staff.
* Assign areas of ownership, ensure engineers have clear priorities and adequate resources
* Maintain high morale and motivate engineers to go above and beyond
* Review automation implementations and encourage sound design principles while remaining practical and milestone driven
*You will be managing a global team, so experience managing multiple remote teams desired
Desired Skills:
* Bachelor’s Degree in CS or EE with at least 5+ years of experience: Software Development or Quality Engineering with short release cycles, the full software lifecycle, and have worked on a product that was actually released for public consumption
* With at least 3+ years leading engineering teams within a software or Internet services development environment known for best-in-class products and services
* Java, HTML, DOM, CSS, JavaScript, Ext.js library, AJAX and FLEX and knowledge of the challenges that each browser/OS presents and appropriate solutions/workarounds
* SQA methodologies, tools and approaches (black box, white box and automated testing)
* Managing complex functional testing projects that require a deep understanding of the application logic and dependencies
* Managing the team’s automation testing efforts
* QA tools, such as Selenium, and Junit, and methodologies
* Building, training, and retaining QA teams of over 5 engineers
