We are in urgent need of Network Technician with active CCNA to fill 6 months contract-to-hire position located in Orlndo, FL.
CCNA IS REQUIRED
Summary:
• Provides and maintains network connectivity services for the company networks.
• Performs device configurations, internal operating system upgrades, and software upgrades and deploys network devices including (but not limited to) routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Assists with troubleshooting circuit equipment and all other network issues.
• Monitors, responds, and provides resolution for all network problem and incident tickets.
• Utilizing case management system (CMS), documents status updates and problem resolutions.
Job Responsibilities:
• Follows documented network services processes and procedures – identifies gaps in processes or documentation and suggests improvements
• Performs customer service duties and responds to customer requests as defined by management
• Responds to customer requests as defined by management completing assignments in a timely manner with an acceptable level of quality
• Troubleshoots network problems and recommends corrective procedures
• Prepares activity reports as requested by management
• Identifies opportunities to improve workflow and creates supporting documentation for review by peers and management
• Maintains network services documentation related to work area
• Completes network change requests in accordance with service level agreements
• Maintains network lab and equipment inventory
• Other related duties assigned as needed
Job Qualifications:
• 3-5 years systems/programming experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in a related discipline.
• Working knowledge of network security appliances and its components
• Working knowledge of networking operating systems and software configuration characteristics
• General knowledge required to design, implement, maintain, and secure a local area network
• General knowledge of the practices, guidelines, and procedures for planning, implementing, and monitoring local software infrastructure, including network security appliances
• General knowledge of the concepts involved with multi-segment LAN and the support of complex/integrated software
• General knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet firewalls, including IDS/IPS configurations
• General knowledge of firewall and security technology, such as intrusion prevention, intrusion detection, IPSEC/SSL vpn, and anti malware technology
• General knowledge of security event monitoring and intrusion research
• Skill in basic diagnostic techniques and corrective actions to resolve day-to-day connectivity problems
• Skill in implementing and monitoring critical network pipelines, router technologies and services
• Skill in successfully addressing and resolving problems with vendor personnel on behalf of the client or company
• Skill in maintaining, upgrading and monitoring a product on the LAN and related infrastructure
• Skill in understanding and focusing on the clients’ needs and goals, establishing credibility and building relationships with clients
• Skill in understanding and responding to security incidents
• Professional certification such as Security+, CISA, CISSP, or GSE is ideal.
