Qualifications: College graduate with B.S. degree in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering required including such courses as Fluid Power, Hydraulic Circuits Electrical Fundamentals, and Communication. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge and experience with ag equipment and ag related processes is preferred. Ability to use various hand tools and fabrication equipment helpful. Knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD Systems. Knowledge of computers and MS office tools including; Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, subordinates and management. Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, speech and hearing ability.
Job Duties: Determines the purpose, application and feasibility of new or existing products on machines and equipment in the divisions target markets. Research and develop original design concepts including: materials, specifications, utilization of purchased components and units, cost estimates, etc., for approval. Install and test products on equipment in both lab environment and in field. Provide engineering assistance on the procurement, manufacturing and assembly of products. Generate ECOs, Deviations, Purchase Requisitions, etc. as needed. Provide engineering assistance to Drafters as needed. Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of agricultural / mechanical engineering and the ag industry to identify opportunities for product improvement or new product offerings. Provide support and training for new or existing products for service personnel and customers when needed in the field.
