GREAT opportunity for Manufacturing Engineer in Louisiana

Manufacturing Engineer to plan, coordinate and perform manufacturing engineering work associated with achieving and sustaining our Quality and Production System performance ambitions. In this position, you will have the following responsibilities, in addition to special projects as assigned:
Apply electronic tools across a broad range of applications, including virtual builds, modeling and simulations to establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs.
Facilitate new product programs through identification of requirements, coordinating, scheduling, assigning tasks as required and following-up on all Manufacturing Engineering-related responsibilities.
Develop and implement plans to support lean manufacturing through the execution of our Quality and Production System.
Lead Value Stream Mapping (VSM) exercises in order to define projects to reduce manufacturing cycle time and improve manufacturing efficiency, and drive resulting projects through completion.
Lead team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency.
Lead analysis, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology.

What It Takes

We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. To be successful in this role, a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline (preferably Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering) or 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role is required. In addition, we require:

Skill in using computer aided design and modeling tools (such as Pro/E or Solid Works) and manufacturing engineering tools for layout, process and work measurement design (such as AutoCAD, FactoryCAD, VisMockUp, Wplanner, or equivalent).
Experience in a fabrication environment (specifically welding plate cutting, bending and machining) and knowledge / understanding of relevant practices.
Thorough understanding of the Product Delivery Process or equivalent experience launching new products of similar complexity to agricultural products.
Lean manufacturing knowledge and experience, to include a thorough understanding of manufacturing design criteria including experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools.
Ability to travel up to 15% (domestically and internationally) as required for projects, assignments and training.

A strong candidate will also possess:
Proficiency in Pro/E with previous focus on product or tool design.
Experience with capital budgeting and capital equipment justification.
Project Management experience, e.g. creating a plan, coordinating resources, managing team members, and delivering results.
Skills in layout ergonomic assessment tools, e.g. VisJack.
Experience in a team lead or supervisory role.
Experience in developing and applying work instructions, including creating operator method sheets.
Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities.
Experience leading, supporting and/or implementing Continuous Improvement projects/initiatives.
Experience working with incentive-based compensation programs.
Experience leading PFMEA’s and developing control plans.
Knowledge of Quality tools (Six Sigma, etc.).

Willingness to Travel – Occasionally
