Responsibilities
• Design, define and implement storage subsystem configurations, perform needs assessments, and provide
recommendations for data storage at the firm.
• Provide highly complex day-to-day technical support and administration of infrastructure technologies for EMC
storage and Cisco Storage Area Network (SAN) subsystems; investigate, resolve and troubleshot issues to ensure maximum
system performance
• Oversee storage provisioning, monitor system, forecast future storage demands, conduct performance tuning, system
controls, and documentation; install, configure, upgrade and troubleshoot issues
• Partner with Project Management, Applications Development, Information Security and Database Administrators to
develop scalable, maintainable, consistent, highly available storage architectures that meet business objectives and
set relevant service-level agreements leading to improvements
• Provide capacity planning, performance analysis, and develop data disaster recovery plans; lead efforts toward
storage consolidation, identify storage growth, manage configuration of storage media and storage management software
• Design systems and policies for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of
storage appliances and stored data assets; implement disaster recovery infrastructure and test readiness
• Evaluate market technologies and maintain relationships with SAN vendors; review product enhancements, new releases
and evaluate benefits to our environments
• Provide technical expertise, guidance, and strategic recommendations to develop a road map that ensures current and
planned technical backup solutions are compatible with business needs and strategic objectives
• Rack, install, and perform software upgrades on SAN switches and storage devices
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or relevant years of experience required; plus
• Minimum four (4) years experience overseeing distributed storage environments, designing, installing, and
configuring multi-path software (EMC Powerpath, HDS DLM) required
• Experience designing and deploying local and remote mirroring solutions for backup and disaster recovery
• Expert working knowledge in installing, configuring and maintaining EMC Clarion CX4 Series SAN, EMC Celerra NAS, EMC
Recover Point, Brocade, and Cisco MDS fiber switches
• Expert knowledge of backup, restore and replication technologies such as: EMC Replication Manager, EMC Recover
Point, EMC Avamar, Data Domain and EMC Networker
• Strong working knowledge in provisioning storage to Redhat Linux, Windows 2003, Windows 2008, VMWare V-Sphere
• Excellent scripting skills (Command level or PERL)
• Strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide solutions
• Must meet performance standards including attendance and punctuality
