General Manager Power Sport Dealership jobs in Canada


Our client is a reputable recreation vehicle retailer in Thompson, Manitoba who carries the most consumer sought after brands of boats, boat trailers, ATVs and snowmobiles. Our client is building a new updated showroom, and fully equipped state of the art service and repair shop scheduled to start this fall. This position has the capability of acquiring partial proprietorship of the dealership.

POSITION SUMMARY
The General Manager, reporting directly to the Owner, will be a self directed professional with a proven track record of managing a retail facility in the automotive or recreation vehicle industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating all resources of the operation, responding to both internal and external customer requirements. The General Manager, will be responsible for achieving sales and profitability targets, and implementing corporate strategy while meeting corporate goals and expectations. The incumbent will have a practical, “hands-on” management style with solid technical ability to oversee this thriving, growing dealership.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage, motivate and engage employees in the dealership
• Work closely with the team to drive sales results
• Manage and delegate the appropriate work to employees to ensure overall operational and corporate success
• Provide necessary planning, organization, direction and control to drive profit and meet the overall operational goals of the business
• Establish goals, objectives and procedures
• Optimize overall service
• Work with owner to ensure immediate organizational needs are addressed, while creating a long-term focus and direction in improving operational excellence and ensuring profitability
• Be accountable for overall performance

EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND QUALIFICATIONS
Post secondary education in Business Administration and/or equivalent relevant work experience
• Proven success building a business
• Strong knowledge of recreational vehicles
• Technical understanding of the service aspect
• A minimum of 4-6 years of management experience
• Love of outdoor activities
• Desire to live in a northern community

COMPENSATION
• Salary plus incentives
