Job Description:
The incumbent will be second in line in Corporate Legal function and will be reporting to the VP-Legal. He/she shall be guiding the company on following matters
• Documentation
• Litigation
• Intellectual Property & Patents
• Due diligence for Merger/Acquisitions
• Statutory compliances
He will be also guiding on the following agreements
• Joint Ventures / Merger /Acquisitions
• Lease /buy sale of property
• Technology transfers /Consultancy
• ESOP /share purchase schemes
• Principal to Principal & Process contracts
Requirements:
The position requires excellent leadership qualities to lead the team of legal professionals which reports to him/her. He/she is also required to guide the legal heads of the associate companies, who are not directly reporting to him, on the complex legal problems whenever they arise.
The attitude of the person should be more of a service provider rather than fault finder.
The person is required to have the ability to solve the business problems with innovative, practical solutions rather than giving just legal opinion on compliance.
The person has to keep in mind that there are very few NON LEGAL avenues are permitted to address the issues.
The position requires frequent face to face interactions with CEO, Legal heads of international organizations etc. and hence the ability to handle them and deal with the different cultures is extremely important.
Job also involves frequent interactions with the Board of directors and owners on various matters of operational and statutory in nature.
The right candidate would be the one having 10 to 15 years of experience in the above mentioned areas; preferably in FMCG domain.
