Our client is a company that has been set up by two forward thinking Dutchmen who are fluent Mandarin speakers. They came to China 13 years ago aiming to match European design with affordable and high quality engineering and manufacturing in China; from Product Design to Final Product. Their aim:
Lower the total costs of the innovation process for industrial and consumer products by combining western style product design with engineering and manufacturing in low cost countries.

Shanghai

REPORT TO:
Directly report to owner/CEO in Shanghai

SUMMARY:
This person will be P & L responsible and has the supervision of the total management in the company which consists of Project managers, Engineers, Quality managers/staff, Production site, support roles as well as the sales teams in Europe. The Project managers deal with the sales teams in Europe who realize the sales. After which the Project managers with their team of (quality) engineers discuss the specific requests, feasibility, design, supplier selection and prototyping up to production or assembly at their own site or outsourcing.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible (profit & loss) for the total Management of both Technical and Sales activities.
Manage, supervise and provide leadership for all aspects of the company, driving implementation of commercial and operational actions.
Have a strategic point of view/have a vision, ideas for the future
As an independent organization optimize and develop the organization, including all aspects of sales, project management, product development, assembly/operation, purchase, finance, quality and human resources.
Ensure constant evolution of both operations and the people in the organization.
Manage and further develop the sales in Europe and explore other sales opportunities elsewhere to develop current and new clients & markets.

REQUIREMENTS:
15 years working experience in production/product development related companies
At least 3-5 years working experience as a General Manager
Able to understand the technical processes as described
Outstanding communication skills, able to communicate efficient with both internal and external people across different levels, functions and countries
An entrepreneurial spirit, able to think outside the box
Speak fluent English and Mandarin.
Understanding of French would be preferred.
