ENGINEER NONWOVEN FIBER LINES
A Market leading and growing manufacturer and distributor of outdoor patio consumer products, has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer Nonwoven Fiber Lines position, working out of our Sanford, North Carolina, facility.
The selected individual will support our three high-loft nonwoven fiber lines that manufacture the airlay polyester fill that is used in our outdoor patio cushions. The manufacturing lines are located in Sanford NC, Amarillo TX and Fort Wayne IN.
The successful candidate must:
Have a background of implementing and executing engineering and maintenance projects; organizing human, technical and equipment resources for planned projects; as well as directing, guiding, and supporting overall operations.
Demonstrate the ability to be viewed as a clear and creditable communicator and resource, have a passion for safety, and be able to foster strong working relationships built upon trust and respect with direct reports, peers and leaders.
Be able to quickly learn and master all aspects of the system, demonstrate excellent judgment and initiative and work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality personnel.
The person in this mission critical role will be responsible for:
• Full support of our lines – mechanical, electrical and computer controls – with the ability to understand the intimate details of every area in order to troubleshoot issues and integrate new equipment or process changes seamlessly into the line operation.
• Leading new equipment and line enhancement projects, system evaluation and improvement.
• Maintenance strategy and execution; Work with reliability department to plan and develop preventive maintenance routines and timings based on failure rates, equipment histories, and other diagnostic tools and data.
• Quality control
• On-going efficiency gains
• New product / process development and introductions
• Operator training and development plans
• Immediate response / support for any line issue that cannot be resolved by the local operations team.
Primary Accountabilities:
• Trains, leads and directs people on projects and initiatives.
• Works with manufacturing to determine causes of slow time, downtime and plan improvements.
• Provides technical support to all departments.
• Promotes worker safety and individual dignity.
• Ensures that all assets are cost effectively maintained and safe.
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or closely related technical field.
Required & Preferred Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of hands on production line support in electrical and mechanical systems is required.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot controls related systems is preferred.
• Strong preference will be given to individuals with a nonwovens background.
• A willingness to travel on demand is required.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
