Our client is one of world’s leading designers and manufacturers of electro chlorination plant and equipment serving oil & gas, power, desalination, general industrial and municipal industries. It has manufacturing facilities in the UK and the Netherlands, a regional office in Dubai and a network of agents and partners throughout the World. The Company is at the cutting edge of electro chlorination plant design and manufacture. Its products are used across a wide range of industries for the treatment of large quantities of water to prevent bio fouling.
Responsibilities:
Program design and write PLC/HMI controlled equipment associated with electro chlorination systems.
Take responsibility for aspects of production build and quality control of project(s)
Supervise supporting mechanical, electrical and process engineers.
Liaise with customers and suppliers when required.
Interpret drawings, specifications and resolve field issues.
Produce specifications to enable procurement of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment.
Create and approve project-specific documentation such as control philosophies, functional design specifications, logics diagrams, cause & effect charts, interconnection wiring diagrams, electrical panel circuits and P &ID’s, electrical GA’s for land based and skid mounted packages, cable schedules and busbar/high current cabling.
Prepare ladder logic diagrams
Use project management software for automatic project reporting using various packages such as MS Office, MS Project and MS Visual Basic.
Conduct product and process QA auditing in line with ISO9000:2001 Standard.
When required, take responsibility for site commissioning of major land based units where full FAT of the programme is not an option.
As required, review sub contractors document submissions, including software FAT procedures to ensure compliance with the applicable specifications and related standards
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years experience in water/power/oil & gas projects
Ability to take an initial sales concept design through to detail design/client submittal
Proficiency in all aspects relating to project engineering, especially budget control, project planning, value analysis, system design, technical specifications, documentation and co-ordination of all project disciplines.
Minimum BTEC National Diploma in Engineering
Preferred B Eng Electrical Engineering & Instrumentation
Computer Literate with working knowledge and understanding of various Microsoft windows packages, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD and electrical design packages such as E plan.
Power generation/desalination/offshore and onshore oil and gas/water treatment sector experience.
Preferably experience in specifying electrical equipment to Major International contractor specifications and in line with current international codes and standards such as transformers Transformer / Rectifiers typically 10kVA to 2MVA with LV and HV AC supplies, transformer rectifiers, LCP’s (Local Control Panels)., MCC’s (Motor Control Centres) typically either integrated into an LCP or standalone where power levels dictate, e.g. Form 4.
Experience of Hazardous area installations such as EExp, typically Zone 2 Gas Group IIC, would be preferred but not essential.
Experience of debugging software during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) would be helpful.
Experience of preparing Instrument Loop Diagrams including specification of intrinsically safe conventional digital and analogue instruments would be helpful
