Director of Advanced Sourcing ( New Product Development) – SA, Texas
Global, growing Company is looking for driven professional to join the team. This position is due to the current Director being promoted to a new role within the organization.
Responsible for identifying, establishing, and managing the supplier base for all direct material (manufactured product components and purchased finished product) worldwide.
Position is not related to high volume/ high spend ; rather leadership in strategic sourcing as related to working with R&D, and procurement for sourcing of components and materials for product being developed.
Responsibilities
• Builds, leads, and maintains the global sourcing function.
• Develops and maintains a supply base for all direct materials and purchased products that support and satisfy corporate goals and products.
• Manages all supplier relationships for direct materials, including establishing and maintaining contracts.
• Ensure fair and comprehensive supplier measurement processes are developed and maintained.
• Minimizes Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for all direct material and purchased products.
• Leads the cross-functional Strategic Sourcing Team process.
• Interacts with all production plants worldwide; sales and marketing on all purchased products; quality assurance for supplier performance and audits; represents the supply side of products to all departments.
• Has heavy participation in the Global Product Commercialization Process for new product development.
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
• At least 10 years of experience in purchasing management.
• Experience in developing supplies relationships including establishing and maintaining contracts
• Demonstrated negotiation, diplomacy, and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
• Masters degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification.
• Experience in medical devices.
• Experience in purchasing management
