Desktop Support Analyst

Role Description

The Desktop Support Analyst is responsible for end to end support services to all staffs.  The Desktop Support Analyst is expected to work with end users and service providers and coordinates desktop support activities including:

* Desktop support, including trading floor support
* First Level Network support
* Asset Management and Purchasing
* Leaver, Mover, Adds, and Changes (LMAC)
* Audio/Video and Conference Room Support
* New Starter/PC Builds
* Coordinating support within the Regional Offices

As this is a highly client facing role working relationships are required with a wide range of stakeholders. This role will require the establishment of relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure the proper support levels are maintained. In addition, the role will require working closely with the group IT team and end users.

Responsibilities

* Provision of desktop services working with the internal staff, contractors, and service providers.
* Act as primary support for Trading Floor.
* Act as primary point of contact for internal and external IT contacts.
* Handle support escalations relating to PC Builds, New starter requests, Desk moves, mobile device support, etc.
* Meet the required levels of desktop support cover for all customers throughout the support hours.
* Liaise with the business representatives and service providers requesting services.
* Ensure all incidents are logged and responded in timely fashion.
* Escalate Major Incidents where applicable
* Ensure technical solutions are captured in a knowledgebase.
* Coordinate the Procurement of PC – related hardware and software
* Review and measure metrics relating to support supplied by Service Providers and external vendors.
* Ensure team follow and understand the processes and procedures and contribute to process and team efficiency gains
* Communicate effectively with key business users and group IT team regarding day-to-day support.
* Create and maintain a climate of continuous improvement, proactively identifying opportunities for service improvements and internal efficiencies.
* Ensure timely and proper response to all regulatory and legal requests, maintaining strict confidentiality.

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

* Degree or diploma in IT
* Trading Floor support experience in a trading organization if preferred
* Experience in being part of a technically focused desktop services team, driven by SLAs
* Experience of supporting a wide-range of Desktop support in a Wintel environment including:
* Windows 7 Professional, Windows Networking
* Microsoft office and standard desktop applications
* A range of computing platforms, (desktops, laptops, tablets, PDAs and mobile phones)
* Excellent multi-tasking, problem solving & analytical skills
* ITIL Foundation qualified
* Microsoft Certification (likely to have gained an MS certification during time doing direct support, not necessarily MCSE)
* Strong drive for customer service and team player
* Strong communication skills, i.e. very customer-focused, articulate and methodical

Preferred

Technical experience of

* State of the art Trader Voice technology – ITS.Netrix plus,BT Turret phone
* Market Data support such as Reuters, Bloomberg, Platts
* AV support
* Experience of delivering projects
