Business Development Engineer – Nuclear
Experienced in integrated design, engineering, procurement and project management services for the Process and Energy sectors worldwide, our client now require experienced candidates to meet our business growth plan.
They are now positioning for new build opportunities independently and via other strategic alliances within the Nuclear sector.
Position Description
The role is newly created following a strategic business review, which has resulted in the formation of four business sectors, one of which is Nuclear. Each sector has a Business Engineer that acts as an interface between business development, technology and project execution. The successful candidate will be focused on securing work and then ensuring client relations during the execution.
This role is primarily a business development one, but also provides the interface between the
business development activities and the project execution / engineering activities within the nuclear business stream. The Business Engineer will have responsibility for developing a sales pipeline and maintaining customer relations.
Key Skills
* The candidate will be a qualified engineer, following a career development programme, with recent nuclear engineering experience gained in a project or engineering capacity; where interfacing with customers is a key requirement.
* This person needs to be a creative and a lateral thinker, developing ideas that will lead to new wins.
* It is equally important that the person has a structured approach in the engineering.
Qualifications & Affiliations
* Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification and experience.
* Membership of relevant Institute
* Chartered Engineer
Experience and Competencies
* An established engineering background
* Experience of estimating engineering man-hours
* Commercial/Contract Exposure is a prerequisite for this role
* Project Engineering experience and understanding is essential
* Client management & Interfacing Skills
* Capable of communicating with all levels of management.
* Candidate should be proactive in seeking opportunities for self improvement and professional development to the benefit of the Company
* Active team member, promoting open communication
* Must be able to understand the needs of existing customers (internal & external) and develop good relationships with current and prospective customers
* Strong communication skills, both written and oral
