FINTECH SEARCH is an executive search firm within the financial services arena with several intriguing finance opportunities. Our Client, a very well established and consistently successful trading institution is seeking to add to staff an Accounting Manager with Hedge Fund accounting and/or audit experience. We are anxious to speak with top tier senior accountants with relevant qualifications who are looking to move their careers up and into fast track Accounting Manager role. This position performs a variety of supervisory and advanced accounting functions including the supervision of accounting staff performing the monthly general ledger close of the Company, coordinating annual external audits, liaising with various department heads and senior management and participating in special projects as applicable.
The following are required skills paralleling this terrific opportunity:
• Supervises, coordinates and assists with all aspects of the monthly general ledger close process, including reviewing and processing journal entries.
• Ensures account reconciliations are performed timely and reconciling items are addressed.
• Reviews and analyzes results and investigates any unusual items.
• Prepares reporting package for monthly reviews.
• Monitors and understands all systematic processes being performed within the accounting and operational accounting groups to the extent that such processes impact the monthly close: maintains integrity of accounting records and reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Coordinates and supervises the monthly close process.
• Works closely with the accounting staff as well as the Assistant Controller.
• Serves as a resource for the Controller and Assistant Controller on a wide variety of subjects and provides assistance on various special requests.
• Serves as a point of contact for audit requests by t he Company’s external auditor and coordinates the collection of data related to annual audit.
Ideally, four years of experience in accounting/financial management, including two years of supervisory experience. Audit and CPA preferred and we are particularly interested in speaking with accounting/audit professionals coming out of a Hedge Fund setting. Experience in the back office trading operations and/or logistics preferred.
